Our Story
Matterly was born from a desire to provide mats that are beautiful AND highly functional. For years, people have been using doormats that are typically EITHER beautiful (but not really designed to handle the rigors of a doorway) OR fairly functional (but not really all that pretty to look at). We wanted to create mats that could do both - keep your floors clean and dry AND be a beautifully-crafted textile you were proud to display in the place that is often someone's first impression of your home. And we wanted these mats to be made in America with materials sourced in the USA, preferably recycled materials, whenever possible. We wanted the mats to be affordable, but more importantly, we wanted them to be valuable - meaning they provide a return on the investment rather than being "throw-away" items that last a few months and then end up in a landfill.
Entryways have several unique challenges that aren't typically met by traditional doormats. Entryways see lots of traffic and therefore shuffling feet, moisture, and dirt/debris. And entryways are often exposed to the elements, including direct sunlight and tracked debris and moisture.
For those not willing to sacrifice durability or design, we provide floor coverings that work for your home and with your home. Our easy-to-clean mats are designed to withstand the day-to-day realities of high traffic areas, indoors or out. We’re committed to offering a quality mat that is as beautiful as it is functional, because what you put on your floor matters.
The Matterly difference:
